Auto Glass Service in Piney Point Village, TX

Piney Point Village sits between Memorial Drive and San Felipe, with Beltway 8 and the Katy Freeway a short drive either way. It's a city of deep lots, long driveways and heavy tree cover — live oaks and pines leaning over narrow residential streets. That canopy is hard on glass: limbs coming down after a Gulf storm, acorns and dropped branches landing on parked cars, then loose gravel off the freeway once you're back up to speed.

Because the Village is almost entirely residential, there's no auto glass shop inside the city limits. Our mobile unit drives in from Houston and works where the car already sits — windshield and side window replacement, sunroof glass, and ADAS calibration for vehicles that require it.

How it works

Three steps, we come to you

1

Tell us what broke

Send the form or call. Your VIN or plate gets us the exact glass for your vehicle, including whether it carries a camera, rain sensor or heating element.

2

We check your coverage first

Before anything is scheduled we confirm what your policy covers — or give you a straight cash price — so the price you hear is the price you pay. No claim is filed until you say go.

3

We come to you

Your driveway, your office lot, your job site — wherever the vehicle is. We fit the glass, recalibrate the camera if there is one, and tell you when it's safe to drive.

Insurance

Going through insurance

Glass coverage sits in the comprehensive part of your policy — and we help you confirm what yours covers.

Glass claims in Texas

Glass damage is covered under the comprehensive part of your policy, and your comprehensive deductible applies to a replacement.

Most carriers waive the deductible entirely for a chip repair, because a repair costs them a fraction of a replacement. If the damage is still repairable, that is usually the cheapest outcome for everyone.

Call us with your policy number and we will check your coverage with you before you commit to anything — and give your carrier everything they need: the exact glass, the part numbers and a written quote.

Paying cash

Not going through insurance? You get a straight price up front, before any work starts — no surprises when the job is done.

General information only, not advice about your policy — coverage depends on the policy you hold, so check with your carrier. We are an independent auto glass company and are not affiliated with or endorsed by any insurance company. Your choice of repair shop is yours to make.

Our warranty

Lifetime Workmanship Warranty

In writing, in full, right here — not a claim with the terms hidden somewhere else.

We stand behind our workmanship for the lifetime of the installation.

If a problem is caused by the way we installed the glass — such as leaks, wind noise, or loose trim — we will correct it at no charge to you. This covers the quality of our installation work itself.

What customers say

“Great service overall! Had an appointment to replace the windshield on my truck at my home with an arrival time between 9a-9:30a on a Saturday morning. The technician named Kevin arrived at 8:57a and got to work immediately. Kevin is very knowledgeable regarding auto glass. The labor was 90 minutes and the reason it was is because Kevin made sure he was giving high quality service in everything he was doing. You can find a technician that can do the labor in 20 minutes, but you'll be sacrificing quality big time! After the windshield was replaced, the cost of the service was very reasonable. Better than Safelite and the dealer. Not to mention the customer service I received from the office. This was a great experience and K & R has a customer in me for life!”

“These guys were so friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. I needed my sunroof replaced and was given a few options on how they could fix it. They were able to get the glass parts and fit me in fairly quickly. They are mobile! I didn’t have to leave my apartment at all. The technician, Kevin was PROMPT at the appointment time, professional, friendly and fast. My sunroof was done in 2 hours. Highly recommend!”

Questions

Frequently asked

What do you need from me to quote a windshield?

Year, make, model and body style to start, plus the VIN if you can read it off the dash or the driver's door jamb — that tells us the exact glass your car left the factory with. Then the extras: rain sensor, heated wiper area, heads-up display, a camera mounted behind the mirror, a shade band across the top. And where the vehicle will be parked, since we come to you.

Can I drive the car as soon as you're finished?

Not the moment we set the glass. The urethane that bonds a windshield has to cure to the point where it holds the glass in a collision and gives the passenger airbag something to push against. That safe drive-away point depends on the specific adhesive, the temperature and the humidity that day, so your installer gives you the exact figure for the product used on your vehicle before leaving.

What about rain, or running it through a car wash?

Rain on a finished windshield is not a problem once the adhesive has cured and the bond is sealed. High-pressure washes and automatic brush tunnels are the ones to keep away from at first — the pressure works at the edges and the brushes grab at fresh moldings and at any retention tape. Leave the tape where we put it, and ask your installer how long to wait before washing.

Why does my crack need a whole new windshield?

A crack stops being repairable once it runs long, once it reaches the edge of the glass, or once it sits where the driver looks, since any repair leaves some distortion behind. Edge damage matters most, because the perimeter is where the windshield is bonded to the body and carries load. Dirt and moisture that have worked into an older break also keep a repair from bonding properly.

My door glass shattered into pebbles. Is that normal?

Yes. Side and back glass is tempered rather than laminated, so it is built to break into small blunt granules instead of long shards. The trade-off is where those granules end up: down inside the door cavity, under seat rails, in carpet and in defroster vents. We clean out what we can reach when we fit the new glass, but expect stray pieces to work out of the door for a while. Cover the opening if the car sits outside.

What do I do if something isn't right afterward?

Tell us rather than living with it. Wind noise or a whistle at highway speed, water at the headliner after rain, a rattle in the dash, a warning light for a camera system — all of those are worth a call. We come back out to the vehicle and look at it. It helps if you note when it shows up: only in rain, only above a certain speed, only over rough pavement.

Will filing a glass claim raise my rates?

Glass damage is handled under the comprehensive part of your policy, not collision or liability, and comprehensive claims are generally treated differently from an at-fault accident. Every carrier and policy is different, though, so your carrier is the one who can confirm it for yours. Either way, nothing is filed until you tell us to.

Should I use insurance or just pay cash?

It comes down to two numbers: your comprehensive deductible and the price of the glass. If your deductible is $250 and the replacement is $550, claiming saves you $300. If your deductible is $500 and the glass is $420, paying directly is cheaper — and there is no claim on your record. We will price it both ways before you decide.

Does my car need a camera recalibration?

If there is a camera mounted behind your windshield — lane keeping, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise — the manufacturer generally requires recalibration after the glass is replaced, so the system aims where it is supposed to. Your VIN tells us whether yours has one, and if it does we include it in the quote up front rather than after the job.
